Photoshop - Chrome Text 1. Start out by making a new 400 x 400 image on a white background. Using the Type Tool create your type (use black for your color for this tutorial). For this tutorial we used a Times New Roman font at 100 pt. size, bold and crisp anti-aliasing. Switch to the Move Tool and drag the text to the centre of the canvas. 2. Now click on the Layer Styles button |

| 3. Next two styles are Inner Glow and Bevel/Emboss Quite a few things to note here, so make a note of all the settings. |  |

4. Now go to the Gradient Overlay style and use these settings. You will need to get the gradient to look like the one we used. To modify the gradient double click on it and add and change the slider to resemble this.
And also in the rollover to the right, select Stroke (not too many controls in this one). |

5. Now lets group all of our effects together once we get them how we want them. create a new layer above the Text layer. Then make sure the text layer is selected and go to LAYER...Rasterize...Type. Then link the Type layer and the new transparent layer above it and merge the two of them together (LAYER...Merge linked) . Now we have the look of all of our layer effects but you can see now they have disappeared. Good. Now we can click on our type layer and add a New fresh drop shadow to our text and it won't mess any of our old setting up anymore. You can also add a new color to the very first layer as, when we started using the Text tool it creates a new layer automatically. NOTE: This technique works best when you use a larger workspace. If you need the text smaller it is best to size it down "after" the technique has been completed. |

at the bottom of the Layers palette. The rest is purely Layer Syles (six in all!) so, to save space, each of the graphics to the right are rollovers. First start with Bevel & Emboss:Enter the settings as in the graphic and note the Countour. Also in this rollover image is the Inner Shadow. Again note the Countour.
